Yes, it’s back – on Friday and Saturday from noon to 9PM. If you’re looking for shades, sarongs and sandy vibes, head on down to the banks of the dam. Fine tune your moves to a backtrack of house, or lay back, chill out, have a cocktail and contemplate the Youniverse.
It’s the heartbeat of the festival. Here is where to go for extraordinary AV production, showcasing an equally world-class lineup of marquee acts and artists across all musical genres. The Red Bull Main Stage features both big name international stars to blow you away and superheroes of tomorrow earning their stripes. Hook up in the Sound Garden, watch bands rock out in the sunshine and then get ready to lose yourself completely as the DJs take over under a ceiling of stars. You’ll be partying so hard you’ll forget about selfies. Synergy Main Stage; the right tunes at the right time. All you have to do is turn up. Once you’ve found it, you may never leave.
For day three, the Synergy Main stage turns into a unique global collaboration. Expect a nine hour electronic music spectacle of trance and progressive psy-trance with international acts, Perfect Stranger, Rocky & Protonica. Close your eyes, open your imagination and picture yourself plugged in to the phattest, punchiest bass lines and most hypnotic rhythms you’ve ever heard in your life. That’s Sirius on Sunday.
This year, we’ve renovated the Indoor Club Stage into a home-away-from-home for ERA and a carefully curated collection of tech house and techno execs who play their trade at Cape Town’s CBD of dance. To elevate the experience, they’re bringing their legendary Funktion One sound system to the party as well as their whole club crew and three international acts. Look forward to the Ellum Records crew, Dino Lenny & Gardens of Go, as well as a very special guest. It’s state of the art clubbing at Synergy Live, where technology meets imagination and the senses are taken on a journey designed for pure enjoyment. This is not a place to pose about looking fashionable; it’s where you go to get down and lose control.
If your feet need a timeout and you want to bring down the revs, remember that laughter really is the best medicine. Head for the intimate laughter zone at Synergy and find out just how loud the noises are in the heads of our country’s leading comedy kings and queens. For those who enjoy a little 70s, 80s and 90s, this is the place to be from sunset till late.
You’ve seen this movie before, right? The one where you’ve been hitting it hard for hours and all you can think of is pizza? That’s what the Market is for. And a few other things. We like to think of as our forecourt at the filling station. If stage-fatigue sets in (yes, it can happen), you’ll be able to top up the tanks with a suitably wide variety of high-octane boogie-fuel: from smoothies and burgers to flat-whites and wraps. You know the gig.
The Synergy souk – a mall of stalls offering all kinds of festival merch, music and massage, arts and crafts and everything in between. For souvenirs and gift ideas, a cute collectable or something more than memories, here’s where it’s at. And if you’ve suffered a ninjury (‘How did that happen?’), or you’re in need of help or advice, the Square’s also home to the Medic & Info Tent info desk.
Legendary festivals and temporary housing are a match made in heaven. We’re talking all-night, curfew-free parties that don’t end with you trying to find a cab home. But at Synergy, we’ve always figured you don’t need to get filthy to have fun. Dignity rules. So you can bang in the pegs and sleep peacefully knowing that creature comforts are part of the deal: hot showers, friendly security - toilets tended 24/3. Zzzzz…
The My Music Matrix Team makes a welcome return to Synergy Live, bringing with them all the essential oils and ingredients to satify your retail therapy needs. From T's to CD's and everything in-between, the MMM Merch crew will help you go home with more than just a bagful of awesome memories.
Synergy always lives up to its name, and we expect our partners and sponsors to be part of the journey and brings their products to life, wheteher it’s a lounge, a bars or a crazy moment to remember for the rest of your life. Pop in, hang out, say hello to the promo peeps, have a drink, enter a competition – explore the space and, above all, indulge yourself!

The festival gate & campsites open from 12pm on Friday 27th November and close at 7:00pm on Sunday 29th November with music generally running from around 11am to 4am Friday & Saturday & 9:00am - 5:30pm on Sunday
Use the website to navigate the festival so you can make the most of it – how to get there, what to bring, what not to bring and how to book yourself into The Heartbreak Motel. Plus there’s useful information about the campsites, onsite amenities, and disability access to name a few. For any further queries please send a mail to [email protected]
Theewater Sport Club, is situated on a peninsula stretching into the Theewaterskloof dam, surrounded by farmlands, majestic mountains and a variety of wildlife. The Dam itself is beautifully set between Franschhoek and Villiersdorp, about an hour and a half out of Cape Town, and boasts some of the most picturesque vistas in the Western Cape.
With the establishment of the Theewater Sports Club (TSC) in 1979, the dam has grown to become one of the largest water sports clubs in the South Africa and features all kind of activities including keelboat, multihull and dinghy sailing, power boating, jet skiing, water skiing, kite surfing, windsurfing and fresh water bass and carp angling.
From Cape Town, proceed east on the N2 for about 68km (past Somerset West and over Sir Lowrys Pass).
Exit the N2 left at the R321/Grabouw off-ramp onto the R321.
Proceed on the R321 heading towards Villiersdorp (the R321 becomes the R45 as you drive over the dam).
About 1km before Villiersdorp, exit the R45 right onto the R43. (only travel for 100m or so) Take your first right onto Old Caledon Road.
Drive down to the end of the road and you will see the Sports Club on your right hand side.

The motto still holds: cash is king and plastic’s fantastic. We’ll have ATM machines on-site, but if you want to avoid paying pesky transaction fees and standing in queues, rather bring enough cash to last the weekend. There will also be credit & debit card facilities as well as Snapscan at the main and electronic stage bars, but remember, food and trade vendors generally only accept cash.
To ensure everyone is safe and sound, Synergy-designated paramedics, life guards, security and firefighting crews will be on hand at all times. In the event of an emergency please alert a Synergy Live staff member or security official immediately.
All lost property can be reported, dropped off or collected from the Security Office, just off the main tar road, by the toilet / shower block. Please report any theft or suspicious activity to the on-site security officers or the SA Police services on duty.
Our best advice: just bring what you need. No, really, we mean it: pack light. Depending where you park, you'll inevitably have to carry your stuff a fair distance to where you camp so leave the acoustic guitar and kitchen sink to someone else. And as part of our ‘leave no trace’ initiative we'd definitely encourage you to only bring things which you can take home. Remember, ‘Less is Best !' Also remember to keep all valuables on your person at all times, while every care is taken, theft from campsites is a reality.
Applications to trade at Synergy Live 2015 are still open. If you are interested in trading please email [email protected]. Dozens of food traders, arts & craft merchants and peddlers of the bizarre and unique apply to trade at Synergy each year. Each stall is priced individually, based on the type of organisation, the number of staff, the size of stall, the products being sold and so on. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate everyone, but we do try and give our patrons the very best variety possible.
A limited amount of space has been made available in the front of the main parking lot for camper vans and small caravans. The usage of this area is on a first come, first served basis and is not charged for.
Smartphones are hard on batteries, chomping bars as fast as you can recharge, especially when shooting video or pics of your favourite band. However our mobile charging partners from Amped have got your back - lookout for the Amped power house, where you can rent or buy a portable Pocket Charger so that you can charge your devices on the go. Get AMPED !
You are allowed to bring in your own alcohol (for consumption in the camping areas) but only up to a reasonable amount per person. You will be asked to leave excess quantities outside the event and this will be enforced. You will NOT be allowed to re–enter the festival site with alcohol once you’ve come in the first time. You will not be allowed to bring in glass bottles of any kind. Alcohol cannot be brought into the main site from the campsite. This year at Synergy Live we’ve gone all out to make sure your festival experience is an easy one – and that includes yet again increasing the number of toilet and shower facilities. As always, they’ll be tended to by our support staff to ensure they’re clean and tidy for the duration of the festival.
The Theewaterskloof dam might be the main water supply for Cape Town, however the water in the dam is not fit for drinking unless you are a fish or a freak. Look out for the green water towers with taps located around the festival site to provide fresh water for drinking or the designated safe to drink points in the permanent bathroom facilities. Bottled water will also be available at all bars.
NB: Synergy Live requires hundreds of thousands of litres of water over a period of three days. Please use water sparingly.
Synergy Live is a festival for everyone, that’s why we’re making sure that all our guests are catered for and all our areas accessible. If you have any special needs, please contact us on [email protected] before the 20 November so we can make any necessary arrangements for a hassle free Synergy Live experience.
