Boschendal Wine Estate
Synergy Live is a mixture of technological wonder and natural beauty, and once again sets its stage against the backdrop of the Simonsberg mountains at the Boschendal Wine Estate in the Franschhoek valley. One of South Africa’s oldest wine farms, Boschendal isn’t just the perfect festival venue – it’s a national treasure. And for three days in November, it’s all yours. This year, Boschendal Wine Estate will be offering its expertise and wares with a series of wine tastings, as part of the Synergy Live Marketplace.
Directions
GPS Co-ordinates: 33*52’ 38.80”S 18*58’21.46”E
From Cape Town city centre via N2
- Leave Cape Town along the N2 towards Somerset West
- Take the R310 – Baden Powell Drive turnoff
- Turn left at the top of the slip road
- Travel towards Stellenbosch, past Spier and Van Rijn Brandy Cellar
- At the T-junction, turn right for Stellenbosch
- Continue traveling towards Stellenbosch, past Distell, keeping left and filter left onto the R44
- Travel through the bottom of Stellenbosch past Simonsberg Cheese factory on the left
- At the fourth robot (traffic lights), turn right onto the R310 to Franschhoek
- Follow this road for approximately 16 km (approx 10 miles) – you will pass over the Helshoogte Pass, through villages called Kylemore, Johannesdal and Pniel
- Boschendal is on the right hand side, about 1 km after the Pniel Primary School
From Cape Town city centre via N1
- Leave Cape Town along the N1 towards Paarl
- Take Exit 47 for Stellenbosch, Wellington and Klapmuts
- Turn right at the bottom of the slip road onto the R44 and pass under the N1
- Cross the the four-way intersection
- Take the next turn left to Franschhoek/Simondium
- After 8.5 km (approx 5.5 miles), at the T-Junction, turn right for Franschhoek
- After 3.6 km (approx 2.5 miles), turn right onto the R310 to Stellenbosch
- Boschendal is 1.5 km (1 mile) further along on the left hand side

Cash & Cards
Cash is king: plastic’s fantastic. We’ll have ATM machines on-site, but if you want to avoid paying pesky transaction fees and standing in queues, rather bring enough cash to last the weekend. Credit cards? Sorry, no can do – leave them safely at home…
Strict No-Nos
No glass will be allowed onto the festival grounds – please decant all drinks into plastic containers.
No fires whatsoever. No illegal substances, pets, fireworks or weapons of any kind.
Toilets & Showers
This year at Synergy Live we’ve gone above and beyond in making sure your festival experience is an easy one – and that includes increasing the number of toilet and shower facilities. As always, they’ll be tended to by our support staff to ensure they’re clean and tidy 24/7.
Public Safety Services
To ensure everyone is safe and sound, Synergy-designated paramedics, security and fire fighting crews will be on hand around the clock for the duration of the festival. In the event of an emergency please alert a Synergy official immediately.
Lost Property
All lost property can be dropped off and collected from the officials’ office next to the main gate. Please report any theft or suspicious activity to the on-site security officers or the SA Police on duty.

The organisers, their agents and employees accept no responsibility for any loss, theft, damage or injury to persons or their belongings whatsoever. All persons attending the festival indemnify the organisers from any action or claims and enter the festival entirely at their own risk. Right of admission reserved even with a ticket. No under 18’s.
Washbox
For those wanting a little bit extra from their bathroom experience, Washbox VIP portable toilets will also be available. Festival goers can make use of Woshbox’s sleek, modern and environmentally-friendly facilities for a nominal fee.
